A Good Rapport

A good rapport does not last
Always troubled by the past
Today is full of pains and sorrows
Comes and goes like tomorrow’s
It is of fear than respect
A thought of history’s lasting neglect
The betraying acts do the memories bring
Trailing atonement of the lashings sting
With distance between of more than miles
And of false forgiveness of all the trials
These angering questions that simmer within
Though virtue of soul controlling again
Abstruse is the bond which may never see clear
The fortune for some clasped holding so dear
An envious sense to what they may possess
Only if all so consistently blessed
Unattainable the path for which to realize
Unseen by dark-hearted soul through unclenching eyes.
